The Bureau of Development Services will help customers who need to repair their buildings due to damage from the January 2024 snow and ice storms.

Some repair and replacement work may not need a permit. Repair work that requires a permit will be accelerated through the permitting process. We are here to answer your questions so you can get your building repaired as quickly as possible.

More information about resources that can help repair property damage due to recent storms can be found here ↗.

You are encouraged to schedule a free 15-minute appointment ↗ to ask questions of City staff before you begin your repair work or apply for a permit.

If a permit is required for the repair work, please submit a permit application ↗ through Development Hub PDX. Be sure to indicate “storm damage repair” in the project description.

Alternatively, you can download a permit application ↗ and submit it by email to PermittingServices@portlandoregon.gov, and a permit technician will respond to describe the next steps. (Please only email the application and not any additional materials.)

Permit applications must be received no later than July 31, 2024, to qualify for faster review.
