The City of Portland works with the ReBuilding Center ↗ to make it easy to donate reusable building materials. Low-income homeowners and business owners can receive materials for free to help make their properties safe. Donating building materials also helps keep waste out of landfills.

How the program works

  • Anyone working on deconstruction or remodeling projects can donate new and reusable building materials to the ReBuilding Center. Please check the ReBuilding Center’s website ↗ for information about the types of materials it accepts.
  • If you are a property owner with a compliance case, you may qualify to receive free materials. Materials are subject to availability. Please visit this page ↗ to learn more.
