Each request will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Permit Status

Request Extension

Request Reactivation

Active: Permit status is Under Review, Approved to Issue, Issued, or Under Inspection.

Abandoned: The permit application has not reached Issued status and there has been no activity for 180 days.

Expired: Permit status is Issued or Under Inspection with no activity for 180 days.

Void: Permit status is Application for 180 days and fees unpaid - OR - in Expired or Abandoned status for 180 days.

Step 3: Submit request

What happens next?

After you submit a request, you will get an email confirming your permit status.

Program guide

Policy for reactivation of expired or abandoned permits

At this time, we are not expiring permits that are in "under review" status.
Exceptions:

  • Permits that are in "issued" status can expire.
  • Projects with approved Land Use (LU) cases must meet specified timelines to retain their LU rights. For more information, please review our land use policy related to expired permits:

 

This policy does not apply to Wireless Facility applications subject to Federal Communications Commission (FCC) timelines. For questions, email wireless.facilities@portlandoregon.gov.
